Tāne Mahuta(god of tne forest)

In Māori tradition, the descendants of Tāne Mahuta(god of the forest and birds), comprise of all forest life, including trees (specifically kauri, tōtara, rimu, and mānuka) and birds. He is also credited with creating the first human, Hineahuone, from soil, making him an ancestor to humanity, with Hine-nui-te-pō (Goddess of Death) as his daughter.
